Double-decker buses, red phone booths, tea parties, big towers – endless iconic sights and sounds when it comes to England’s beautiful capital city, London. With so many museums, palaces, parks, and markets around the city, it’s impossible to fit EVERYTHING in four days… But I tried my best. Here’s everything I did in London this time around, this blog is a work in progress because I hope to go to London a bunch more!
WHAT TO SEE
I honestly didn’t even have time to go sightseeing a lot this time around but here are a few hot spots I’d highly recommend checking out if you’re a first-timer to London.
Buckingham Palace: Head on over to Buckingham Palace at 10 a.m. to get a prime spot for the changing of the guard, where the old and new guard march to get an inspection done and switch shifts.
Big Ben: The infamous clock tower, it was closed when I visited but you can still take photos from the outside.
Hyde Park: infamous park with fountains and a lake to walk around or enjoy a picnic at.
Convent Garden: One of the main entertainment areas in London with a bunch of different restaurants, stores, and markets.
Kings Cross: This is where the infamous Harry Potter Platform 9 3/4 is!
The Shard: A skyscraper that gives you the view of the entire city, make sure to receive tickets ahead of time as it gets pretty sold out. There’s also a cocktail bar at the top!
THINGS TO DO
High Tea at Sketch: A super bougie high tea filled with numerous courses of assorted finger sandwiches, scones, parties, and so much more. They had a vegetarian menu and while the food was decent, the experience was worth every penny. I’m not even a tea drinker! Make sure you check out the ultra-cool bathroom.
Park Row: A DC-Inspired restaurant where all the drinks and food items are based off of the comics.
ABQ London: The world’s first immersive molecular cocktail bar where you get to make and infuse your own drinks in an RV.
London Eye: The giant observation wheel to admire the London skyline!
Life-Size Monopoly: WHAT AN EXPERIENCE. For all my competitive folks, this was the coolest game ever. There were so many fun mini-games, it was so interactive, and the challenges were amazing – must go here.
WHERE TO EAT
Circle Popolare: One of London’s best Italian food spots – I absolutely adored the pizza here (even though you had to cut it yourself) and wine.
Dishoom: Also known as one of the World’s Best Indian Restaurants – as a vegetarian, I felt like it was a bit overrated except for the daal, which was the best thing ever.
Gymkhana: A Michelin star Indian restaurant that’s supposed to give Dishoom a run for its money.
Ivy Asia: An Asian-Fusion restaurant with some of the best theatrical drinks and cocktails.
As you can see, the time at London was not complete at all, there’s still SO much to see. But if you’re going for a quick 3-4 day trip, these spots are a MUST. Follow @nehaltenany on Instagram for more!
